It's me again!

Going through my head right now: Book 14 in the Mountain Women Series, possibly titled The Missing Years. I'm excited about it!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
When I wrote The Girl on the Mountain, I had no idea how much readers would want to continue this story of May Rose in a second book.
I felt like I'd put May Rose through so much difficulty--I wasn't ready to do that again. Also, I thought (maybe wrong, maybe right) that the readers' favorite character in that story was young Wanda!
With all that in mind, I gave the starring role in Book 2 (Cold Comfort) to Wanda. Because in this story Wanda is 15 years older, I had to decide how this brave, undisciplined, mischievous girl grew up.
I was happy with the result. In Cold Comfort, Wanda goes back to her mountain roots to settle differences with her moonshiner granny, Lucie Bosell. It's a gritty story about hard times and some bad people. But there's also love...
As well as introducing grown-up Wanda, Cold Comfort introduces characters who become important to her life and the life of May Rose. It's a vital bridge to the rest of the series. I'm glad I made that choice!
