It's me again!

Here's what's new:

I've been listening to audiobooks, partly because listening is a way to rest my eyes. I began listening (with earbuds) when I'd wake in the middle of the night and needed something to lull me to sleep. But eventually I got interested in a book and started listening to it during the day!
Recently I listened to Resistance Women. There are many novels about the work of women in WW II, but this is most detailed one I've read. It's also the longest. The book was published several years ago, so maybe you know about it.

This story takes place inside Berlin from the rise of Hitler in 1933 to about 1945. It's is based on the resistance work of real people, including a woman from Wisconsin and the daughter of an American Ambassador to Germany. If you like history as well as literature, you'll appreciate this one. Highly recommended!

Gripping details from the side of the defeated: A Woman in Berlin (nonfiction)

In war, civilians on both sides suffer, and this diary of a German woman shows the damage to a civilian population and women in particular. The author, still anonymous though she is no longer alive, recorded a compelling tale of the first eight weeks of occupation by invading Soviet soldiers after the fall of Berlin. This one was first published in 1954. I believe there's also a movie but I haven't seen it.
